To Whom It May Concern,
RE: LETTER FOR RECOMMENDATION FOR JOEY DiGUGLIELMO
Dear Madam/Sir,
I commend to you in the most unqualified manner the journalistic skills, dedication and professionalism of my friend, Joey DiGuglielmo.
I witnessed Mr. DiGuglielmo's loyalty and dedication for the last seven years as a writer for the Washington Blade. Joining the newspaper in 2006, he stuck with it through its crisis in 2009 when its parent company shuttered it, remaining with its core staff determined to carry on its 40-year legacy, which they did under very adverse conditions until they could reclaim the trademark and fully restore the publication after six months or so.
Knowing his skills and capacity for creative insights, I chose to request of Mr. DiGuglielmo that he write the Foreward to my just-published book, “Extraordinary Hearts,” which he graciously did in a very well-crafted and timely manner.
Mr. DiGuglielmo has had seven years of experience working with the rigors of weekly newspaper deadlines and has displayed remarkable versatility in intelligently treating a variety of subject matters for his many well-written articles. He also has not hesitated to share his work in a neighborly manner, which he did when he provided an excellent photograph of Sen. Mark Warner for my newspaper.
Mr. DiGuglielmo “doubles” as a church organist on weekends, and I am impressed by his knowledge of and appreciation for all kinds of good music.
He gets a “two thumbs up” from me, and I know that any prospective employer would be very satisfied with what Mr. DiGuglielmo would bring to his work.
Sincerely,
NFB
